The Crown, Lavender Hill, Battersea

H&C Architects have been working on a project to convert an old pub in Battersea into five flats and mews house whilst retaining the ground and basement floors for commercial use.

The project on a late victorian property  has just been submitted for planning approval, is aimed to extend and refurbish an existing Public House on Lavender Hill.

The development was subject to a ‘Pre App’ submission to Wandsworth Planning Authority.

The Ground floor is proposed to be extended with a structural glass extension to the street to mitigate the loss of space at the rear now proposed as a separate access to the new flats and a attached mews house. The principle was to minimise the visual impact to the Street by reforming the roof into a mansard penthouse, and then create a cascade of new flats on the upper floors with terraces preventing views to the north toward Central London.

Planning Decision is expected in July
